Luxor hotel opened in 1993 on the south end of the Strip and is famous for its Egyptian theme. Hotel is constructed in the shape of a pyramid, 30 story high. One of the greatest discoveries in Egypt has been the tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut). Luxor hotel has recreated that experience right here in Vegas by authentic reproductions of the monuments found on the original site like guardian statues, King Tut’s sarcophagus, and an array of statues, vases, beds, baskets and pottery. Many of these artifacts reproduced here have been made using the old techniques.
