Mt. Fuji has a special meaning to the Japanese people and they like to gather to ascend it and reach it’s summit. The main climbing season is from July to August, as Mt. Fuji’s summit is covered by snow between October and May. Either way you can decide to ascend it even on other times of the year but there are no guarantees that any of the huts will be open.

The ascent can take around 12 hours, and is divided into stations. The most common way is to reach the fifth station – Lake Kawaguchi by bus, where the road ends, and start from there.
